Miz Kathy's Found Secrets'Is Proud To Present Guided Thinking (Better Known As: Cure For Being Sick and Tired Of It All)
Other Free Stuff You Can Steal
Until we write a book on how we wrote our books, you
can go through the following and figure out a lot of the process.
Yes, one of these days, we'll write a book on how to do this step by step at the
lowest possible cost, but until then, you can grab some of the stuff we did
so that you can do the same thing.
Here's the first free thing for you! For this
great e-book resource, search the FREE Ebook Directory at:
Ebooks-for-Everyone.com
Now, the free HTML editor we like to use is called
HTML Kit. It has a bunch of tags, plug-in generators, and it even
works with Open Office! (That's a free resource listed in the next category on this page)
You can download the HTML editor at:
HTML KIT
If you want to just make your pages into HTML code
and take it from there, then here is another freebie-type HTML Editor
for you! Although, we can't for the life of us figure out why they think
this wonderful tool has anything to do with being afraid of spiders! Anyhow,
you can hop on over there and download it, okay!
Arachnophilia
FREE Office Type Stuff
Now, although it's one real huge program, (especially if
you're on dial-up), it's one of the best
programs out there! There's a word processor, a
spreadsheet, a database creator, html wysiwyg (which stands
for "what you see is what you get") editor, and
works like that big type name Word Processing program by
that multi-billionaire. And, it will even save and read your documents in
that popular format created by that multi-billionaire. The very big difference between
the popular version and this one, is this one is FREE! It's called
"Open Office!" and you can download it here:
OpenOffice
FREE "Make Your Own" PDF and Related E-book Creation Tools
We already put out our PDF versions of books, and we do it for FREE! (Although
just to show our appreciation for how much we love this product, we will be buying the paid version very soon.)
How, do we do that you might ask? Real simple. We went and picked up our copy of PDF995 and it also has a
PDF995 editor that you can download for free, too. Now, there are some rules that
go with its use, so pay attention. There is a pop-up whenever you use it to create
a PDF,(although it doesn't pop up everytime someone reads your created PDF),
unless you pay for the license to get rid of the pop-up.
You can do that for $9.95 per download or $19.95 buys the whole
thing, including the Security feature and the editor. (As a matter of fact,
for $10 more, they have an entire library of useful tools.) Now, if you don't buy the license to get rid of the pop-up
thingy, you can't use it for commercial products. Once you have it on your computer, all you
have to do is print the document with the 995 printer and it
makes a PDF quick, fast, and in a hurry. To edit it, you pop up
your PDF995 Edit and you can add links, bookmarks, and a
whole lot of other fancy additions. (Very soon, we will make the book available for you that
shows you exactly "step by step" how to use this product, so keep an eye open!)
Go and download it now! You can get it at:
PDF995
FREE BLOGGING TOOLS
Newest craze out there is blogging! Now, you might
not know what blogging is, but what you do is put your personal
thoughts out there on anything you're interested in. Oh yeah, the
light goes on for some of you, don't it! You can use this is an
advertising tool to get people to your website. So, here's a
blogging tool that you can use for free, and all they do is put up
advertising on your blog:
Blogger.com
But, once you have your blog out there, you need
some way to advertise it. One of the ways of doing that
is to have your "blog" put on a list. And, the fine
folks at Blogwise will put you on their list, if you meet there
requirements, which isn't that hard to do: Blogwise.com
When you're downloading all these freebies, you need
yourself a zip tool. This one is our favorite. You can not only "zip" and "unzip," but
you can create packages of the zips, and then even password protect them. When you get there, just
click on their BigSpeed Zipper and "Get It"! It claims
to be the Swiss Army Knife of Zippers and we aren't so sure it
isn't. (Yes, this is listed on another webpage, but we still feel that a good truly FREE "zip" tool
is too important, not to mention again.)
BigSpeed Net
FREE FTP Tools (and a quick lesson in FTP)
Now, when you get hold of a domain (no technically you don't need your
own domain, but nobody, and we do mean NOBODY, will take you seriously until you do)
and create a website, you need a tool that gets it to your host. And, the one we like
is FTP Commando.
But, before we tell you where to get it, let
us save you a bunch of trouble and tell you how to log in to
these FTP sites.
Let's say you have a website called "Flip My
Grits." (Now, if you own a website like that, we're sorry, but
this is what is called an "example.")
Now, you
have your ftp site at ftp.flipmygrits.com.
Let's say the
administrator is admin@flipmygrits.com. Let's say the password is
"flippingrits."
So, when it comes time to make the ftp connection,
you would type under Site Name: Flip My Grits. Under
Host, IP, URL, you would type: ftp.flipmygrits.com (Unless you need to
type the actual url address which will be something like:
ftp:xx.xx.xxx.xx:xxxxx with the x's being real
numbers, you understand.)
Under username, you would type:
admin@flipmygrits.com (or whatever username the admin is using.
It doesn't have to be "admin".)
Then, under
password, you would type: flippingrits.
Now, the rest of the details
like ports and retries should be standard. So, the port should
read 21. The ftp should be set to automatically decide which
transfers best, like the binary or ASCII mode. So, if your
FTP's got an auto-type setting on it, set it to that and leave it
alone!
Please realize there's a little more to FTP than what we
have just taught, but that information will get you past the hardest part. (We hope
to be able to make a book available to you that goes more in-depth.)
Now, that we have saved you a bunch of fretting,
fuming, and fussing, let's get you pointed in the direction of
one great freebie FTP program. It's called FTP Commando. They got
a pro-version, too, for the more advanced, but we have to tell you, we
do everything we need to do just with their freebie version. You
should be able to upload your graphics and stuff up to yer CGI bin
so you can get them over to your main website. But,
this is not the time and the place to talk about that. Maybe when we
write the e-book "How To Get Your E-books On Your
Website." But, that's a stretch down the road, you know!
You can grab that fabulous FTP program here:
